Oral History and Preserving Brooklyn’s Neighborhoods
November 14, 2018
On November 14, 2018, Liz Strong, Oral History Program Manager for the New York Preservation Archive Project (NYPAP), led a free workshop on how to conduct oral history interviews. NYPAP documents and celebrates historic preservation campaigns across the five boroughs of New York City. Drawing on oral histories recorded with some of Brooklyn’s leading preservationists, this workshop introduced participants to why oral history is a powerful tool for neighborhood history, and how to create oral history projects of their own.
